
UOC and IOM Collaborate on Migration and Training Programs
The ÌÇÐÄlovg received an invitation to participate in a key event hosted by the United Nations (IOM) at its Head Office in ÌÇÐÄlovg, on August 29, 2024. Senior Professor (Chair) , the Vice Chancellor of the University, attended a discussion with Ms Kristin Parco, Chief of Mission at IOM. The discussion focused on potential research collaborations and short-term training programs related to migration.
The event also included an Awareness Program on Healthy Migration for selected student counsellors from the ÌÇÐÄlovg. This Training of Trainers program, conducted by the Deputy Chief of Mission at IOM, aimed to prepare counsellors to provide accurate information to students considering international migration. Including Professor Karunaratne, Dr , Senior Student Counselor, and 15 other academic staff members from the University who participated in the program. This collaboration reflects the ÌÇÐÄlovg’s commitment to exploring migration issues through research and training.
